About me

  • I obtained a doctoral degree in Neurobiology at the University of Freiburg, Germany, while carrying out my thesis project at the University Hospital of
    Old Age Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Bern, Switzerland. In May 2021, I joined the research group of Daniel Ferreira at 探花精选 as a postdoctoral researcher. I use cognitive and multimodal imaging data from large international cohorts to investigate healthy and pathological ageing, with a special focus on dementia with Lewy bodies.

Research

  • My current research revolves around cognitive and structural networks.
    Assuming a network point of view is particularly important in dementia with Lewy bodies since the underlying Lewy body pathology propagates along structural connections throughout the brain, thus affecting an increasing number of brain regions during the disease progression. Hence network analyses provide insights into patterns of neurodegeneration, which cannot be revealed using regional analyses. Additionally, network and connectivity analyses allow for tracking the spread of the disease through the brain and predicting disease progression, which rank among the top 5 research priorities of patients with dementia with Lewy bodies and their caregivers.
