I am a doctoral student at the Unit of Intervention and Implementation Research for Worker Health, enrolled in the Research School in Health Science HK25 [1]. My doctoral project, AssistWell: A project on personal assistant’s work environment, mental health and return to work, focuses on personal assistants’ work environment, mental health, and return to work. In this project with one qualitative part (which is part of the project Personlig assistent – Ett utmanande yrke? [2]) and one quantitative part (which is in its developmental stage), I will study how the work environment is linked to health, and what barriers and facilitators exist for returning to work after sick leave due to mental disorders among personal assistants.

Background

I hold a master’s degree in public health science with societal perspectives from Stockholm University (2021-2023) and a bachelor's degree in sport science from the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH) (2018-2021). Before starting my doctoral studies, I worked as a research assistant at GIH (2023-2025) in an intervention study investigating physical activity's effects on adolescents’ cognitive and mental health [3].
