About me

  • Licensed physician and currently pursuing an independent postdoc, focusing on social aspects of health in different countries. Topics of the PhD were social determinants of mental illness and alcohol use in a Ugandan population cohort, run by a local research organization called AMBSO. Further, I was part of an international collaboration on adolescent mental health which contributed to UNICEF's The State of the World's Children 2021 report.


    Ongoing research:
    * Collaborations between traditional/faith healers and psychiatry in Uganda to improve care for people with severe mental illness
    * Sexual and reproductive health of female drug users and sex workers in Myanmar
