I am a clinical specialist in nephrology and internal medicine and researcher with more than 20 years experience in patient care and translational research, specialized on disturbances in bone and mineral balance, CKD-associated osteporosis, cardiovascular complications, bone turnover markers in CKD, and hemodialysis treatment. I currently work at Diaverum Sweden as Medical Director and at Karolinska University Hospital as consultant, co-heading a multidisciplinary expert group  for managing CKD-associated osteoporosis and other CKD-MBD-associated complications. I am affiliated with ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡, CLINTEC, since 2006, previously affiliated with Linköping University, where I gained my PhD in 2014 with prof. Per Magnusson, clinical chemistry, as supervisor.

Since 2020 I am board member of the European Renal Association CKD-MBD Working Group whose chairman I was beteween 2022 and 2025. I am also founding member of the European Renal Osteodystrophy (EUROD) Initiative of the European Renal Association, whose mission is to build a European bone biopsy registry and organize research and education in the field of CKD-associated osteoporosis. In Sweden, I am member of the Swedish Nephrological Society's Guidelines Committee and adjunct at the Regional Program Group for Nephrology (RPO Stockholm-Gotland). As key opinion leader within the field of CKD-associated osteoporosis, I have co-authored several international consensus papers, offering clinical guidance in areas where evidence is not sufficient for formal guidelines. I also was an invited member at the Kidney Disease - Improving Global Outcomes 2023 CKD-MBD Controversies Conference.

In addition to the European EUROD Research Network and the Eropean Renal Association CKD-MBD Working Group, I participate in the KaroKidney research network at ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡, aiming at improving health outcomes in kidney disease, in an international research group exploring skeletal- and systemic effects of ADPKD, in a Swedish collaboration with KTH, exploring the effect of blood flow modulation on dialysis blood access, and in a collaboration with Linköping University to explore the role of alkaline phosphatase in the pathomechanism of and as treatment target for pathologic mineralization. I have supervised several MD masters thesis and co-supervised 2 PhD students, have organised several CME courses and give lectures in graduate and post-graduate education. I have acted as Country PI and PI in several multicenter clinical trials in collaboration with pharmacological industry.
