Our Research

Our research focuses on uncovering the molecular and physical principles governing early embryonic division and nuclear organization. By leveraging advanced fluorescence-based imaging technologies, we aim to study unique division processes in in a non-invasive and quantitative manner.

Previous work, performed by professor Ellenberg´s group at EMBL Heidelberg, has included large-scale RNAi screening to identify cell division genes, high-throughput live-cell imaging, and the development of a protein atlas of the human dividing cell. The group has also used super-resolution microscopy to resolve nuclear pore complex structures and study chromatin dynamics.

Moving forward, the newly formed group at ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ and SciLifeLab seeks to deepen our understanding of mitotic division in mammalian embryos, nuclear organization, and early embryonic development through cutting-edge imaging and computational approaches.
