Forskningsbeskrivning
- Forskningen i min grupp T-cellsimmunitet mot virusinfektioner och cancer, [1]
bedrivs vid Centrum för infektionsmedicin (CIM) i Huddinge.
​ [2]Vår grupp forskar på cellmedierad immunitet. Mer specifikt är vi
intresserade av att förstå hur minnes T-celler känner igen och eliminerar
virusinfektioner och tumörer. T-celler är kritiska för immunkontroll av de
flesta virusinfektioner och utgör också en central komponent för
immunterapier som helt har revolutionerat behandlingsalternativen inom
³¦²¹²Ô³¦±ð°ù±¹Ã¥°ù»å±ð²Ô.
Mycket av vår nuvarande förståelse av minnes T-cellfunktioner härrör
dock från studier av perifert blod hos människor. Med ny data från oss och
andra som visar att de flesta minnes T-celler i vävnader är
icke-cirkulerande residenta celler, är det nödvändigt att bättre förstå
hur, var och vilken typ av T-celler som genererar immunitet i kroppen. Min
grupp fokuserar vårt arbete kring dessa frågeställningar med det
övergripande syftet att i) studera diversitet av minnes T-celler i
mänskliga organdonatorer, ii) identifiera alternativa funktioner för minnes
T-celler i mänskliga vävnader, och iii) förstå hur minnes T-celler
upprätthåller kontrollen över tumörer och virusinfektioner, såsom HIV
och SARS-CoV-2.
