Health services and social work research – Lena Von Koch's research group

The research group develops new knowledge based on the importance of external societal as well as intra- and interpersonal factors for the health and well-being of patients and their relatives. The research agenda also addresses interprofessional and interorganizational collaboration.

Knowledge gaps addressed are for instance the collaboration between different organizational units, care transitions from hospital to home, co-creation of new interventions, how to increase person-centeredness and health literacy for people with stroke. Another research aim is to increase knowledge about the situation of people with acquired brain injuries in terms of experiences of participation and belonging in society. Clinical sexology with a focus on sexual function and ability and life satisfaction are other research areas addressed by the research group. Other areas attended to are the social and psychological aspects of living with cancer, both the patient as well as the afflicted family, and the use of mobile interactive interventions to support people living with cancer.

The research group collaborates with the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ units Social work in health care, Physiotherapy and occupational therapy, Theme Heart & vessels and neuro at Karolinska University Hospital, Academic primary care center and FOU nu in Region Stockholm. The research group collaborates with other universities Dalarna University, Södertörn University, Stockholm University, Marie Cederschiöld University, and Gothenburg University.
